Yeti
2014 was the year in which German outdoor and urban brand Yeti released ‘Next to Nature’ into the world, the first nylon ever to be made completely from renewable, vegetable oils.
The oil is extracted from the Ricinus plant, which thrives in dry areas and does not occupy farming land. Nylon based on such plant oils, then, is much more environmentally friendly than traditional nylon made from scarce petroleum resources.
Several coats from Yeti’s collection are already partly made from this new fabric.
