EcoProFabrics

EcoProFabrics is part and parcel of Eco-innovation, the European Commission’s program dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of the textile industry. In this green context, nine big companies put their heads together to create Infinity workwear, which is 100% recyclable.

Dutch aWEARness produces the clothes according to the principles of the circular economy. To do this, they rely on Infinity, a fabric that is made of recycled polyester from Treviro CS yarns. Their zero-waste production achieves a 50% decrease in the amount of water used, and 20% in carbon dioxide. In addition, Dutch aWEARness experiments with take-back systems to collect the workwear after a period of 12 to 18 months. The clothes are shredded and woven into new products, which end up at workplaces again. Now that’s coming full circle.
