The family business Van Puijenbroek Textiel dates back to 1865, when it was founded by Hendrik Van Puijenbroek. Van Puijenbroek Textiel was awarded the Cradle to Cradle certificate for its 100% recyclable collection HaVeP® REWORK. For this collection, Van Puijenbroek teamed up with waste disposal authority Van Gansewinkel Groep, which collects the clothes after use. The zippers, buttons and other add-ons are ease to reuse, while the cotton is re-processed into yarn or used for compost. This compost, in turn, closes the loop, because it serves to feed the cotton plant. Van Puijenbroek Textiel also markets the HaVeP® Tencel® collection, which is made from wood cellulose. Wood cellulose consists of both natural and synthetic fibers. Polyester is added to the mix for extra strength.
