The Dutch label Superette specializes in printing clothes for men, women and children. As the first GOTS certified silkscreen workshop in the Benelux, it uses only dyes that meet the GOTS requirements. Yet not only Superette is making an ecological effort. The certificate guarantees the ‘GOTS worthiness’ of the entire production chain of the clothing that Superette prints. From the cotton farmer to the manufacturer and the sewing shop: everyone adheres to the GOTS regulations. If one of them fails to meet the requirements, all the players lose the label.

An independent supervisor, Control Union, monitors the companies that are part of the production chain. It makes sure they comply with the rules and it checks their record-keeping, also as far as buying and selling organic cotton is concerned. The GOTS certificate covers the companies’ social policy towards their employees as well. This means that, in a GOTS certified production chain, all partners treat their staff right.
