Armedangels

Armedangels is keen on beautiful and – just as important – ethically produced clothing, and that’s exactly what they offer to both their male and female clientele. The German brand is allergic to fast fashion and opts for fair fashion instead. Fairtrade and the Fair Wear Foundation make sure the brand keeps its promises, and that everyone involved in the chain is treated fairly.

Most Armedangels collections are produced in Portugal, but the label relies on factories in Turkey and China as well, because it feels it can have more of an impact there (seeing that there’s still so much room for improvement in these countries).

The angels of Armedangels won’t go near a material that’s unsustainable. They limit themselves to organic cotton (DetoxCotton, to use their term), organic linen, organic wool, recycled polyester and Tencel®. And they stick to this resolution, as evidenced by the GOTS certification that Armedangels has been awarded back in 2011. Moreover, their DetoxDenim is produced using a minimum of water. Instead of chemicals, the brand uses ozone and lasers to lighten the classic denim blue.
