Wunderwerk

Wunderwerk, Heiko Wunder and Tim Brückmann’s brainchild, aims to work wonders (or wunders!) for both people and the environment, by putting a stop to the exploitation of natural resources and the use of polluting chemicals. The brand, which was founded in 2013, is a member of the International Association of Natural Textile Industry (IVN), and it’s fond of fabrics such as Tencel®, modal (made from beech wood harvested from local forests), organic cotton and organic wool from several European countries. Almost all the fabrics and yarn Wunderwerk transforms into simple, urban men’s and women’s wear are GOTS certified.

More than 90% of the Wunderwerk production takes place in Europe, mainly in Italian and Portuguese manufacturing facilities that comply with the strictest environmental conditions. Thanks to an innovative washing technique, Wunderwerk managed to reduce the average water consumption from 90 to 160 litres per jeans to 3 to 9 litres. And there’s more. Wunderwerk dyes whole garments in one go (instead of dyeing the various materials separately, before they are processed), using an airbrush technique involving oxygen and ozone.

By buying Wunderwerk items with a Donation logo, customers support charities all over the world. Twice a year, Wunderwerk selects a new project to cheer on.
