Belgian eyewear brand Bidules Eyewear was named after the grandfather of creative director Nicolas Musty. A few years ago, the latter discovered a part of the old collection of Bidules, the eyewear shop his grandfather founded back in 1934, and noticed that the vintage frames were still surprisingly on trend. The resurrection of Bidules was a fact! With his label, Musty wants to go against the idea that glasses are a fast-moving consumer product. He simply can’t understand why anyone would produce a new pair of glasses when so many unique and hip frames are waiting for a second life.
Bidules roams all over Europe to find ingredients for their limited-edition collections. The team rummages through factory cellars and attics, hoping to find incomplete, unfinished or poorly designed glasses, which they can transform into ‘new’ eyewear – both regular eyewear and sunglasses.
