Elsien Gringhuis

Timeless, minimalistic and sustainable: these are the terms characterizing Elsien Gringhuis’s clothes. This Dutch designer uses innovative patterns to generate as little surplus as possible. Gringhuis is not one for launching new collections each season. Rather, she has her main collection, called “Books”, to which she organically adds new “Chapters”.

The clothes, which are typically made from linen, hemp and biodegradable leather, consistently carry Fair Trade, GOTS and eco-tex labels. To stimulate local craftsmanship and to maximize the sustainability of the entire chain, the label’s production is situated only in the Netherlands.
