The clothing, accessory and footwear brand Komodo has pioneered sustainability initiatives. They’ve been working with organic cotton, Tencel®, hemp and bamboo since the nineties. Their organic cotton and hemp are, moreover, GOTS certified.
Komodo’s production is based in Nepal, China, Bali and India. The company maintains excellent relations with its manufacturers and tries to convince them to make eco-choices whenever possible. Komodo makes sure that its factories follow its rules: child labor and discrimination are strictly forbidden, all employees have to receive fair wages, and a safe and clean work environment is also a must. Most of the manufacturers have GOTS or SA8000 certificates. Independent organizations keep an eye on each player in the production chain.
