ietStof

IetStof is heaven on earth for anyone who likes (used) fabrics. It’s been years since the Antwerp-based non-profit bought new fabrics: the organisation works with dead stock and donations. Both children and adults of all cultural backgrounds are welcome at ietStof to learn to design and sew their own clothes.

During workshops, ietStof participants not only transform old clothes into new items to brighten up their own wardrobes; they also create pieces for the so-called ‘S L O W’ collections, which they put centre stage during the fashion shows they organise from time to time. By giving a new life to discarded clothing, the non-profit organisation reduces waste as well as offering a creative outlet to young and old.

What the future holds? IetStof is thinking big. It wants to scale up, evolving from a small to a big textile workshop, and to take on larger projects to help companies get rid of their leftover fabrics or work with their dead stock so it can be sold again.
