Zacharia and Valentin, two young, Brussels-based designers, want to combine fashion and ecology. They argue that everything can be reused, and don’t hesitate to lead by example. Working under the label Distinct Design, they make accessories from discarded advertising banners that would otherwise end up in the incinerator. The gentlemen recycle kilos of plastic every year by transforming it into trendy wallets, backpacks, earrings, card holders, sports bags and even beach chairs.

The brand not only plays the sustainability card, but also wants to make a social difference. That’s why Zacharia and Valentin are considering relying on the residents of a couple of Belgian prisons for the production of Distinct Design items.
