Go as u.r., the Antwerp-based brand that Annelies Lambert launched in 2018, serves as a one-stop shop for sustainable fashion and vegan, cruelty-free beauty. Their seasonless collections are minimalist, trendy and made from sustainable – natural or recycled – materials. Organic cotton, recycled polyester from PET bottles, recycled nylon from discarded fishing nets, lyocell (a fabric made from eucalyptus trees): you name it! To dye these fabrics, Go as u.r. uses Oeko-Tex or GOTS-certified dyes that contain no metals or other harmful substances, and that require as little water as possible. All Go as u.r. clothes are produced in a small, family-run factory near Porto.
For every item sold, Go as u.r. donates one euro to W4, Women’s WorldWideWeb, to support women all over the world with coaching, education, IT access and network activities. Women from Kenya’s Kibera slum, for instance, learned a trade and benefitted from entrepreneurial training via W4, while girls from Vietnam’s Da Lat region received educational opportunities, and remote Moroccan communities were made aware of the harms of child marriage through an information campaign.
Finally, the Antwerp-based label shares simple ways to go green in the laundry room on its website, it ships its goodies in recycled cardboard boxes, and allows customers to return their old Go as u.r. clothes (with a minimum of seven items and in exchange for a Go as u.r. beauty product).
