Wintervacht, founded by two young Dutch designers, makes clothes from old wool blankets and curtains, giving these forgotten fabrics a chance at a new life.

The second-hand fabrics are carefully selected at thrift stores or elsewhere, thoroughly inspected, washed and ironed, before going to the design department to be turned into fashionable clothes. Everything is handmade in the Netherlands. Wintervacht has an online shop selling wool jackets and vests.

Furthermore, clients can take their own blankets or curtains to Wintervacht to have them transformed into cosy coats, vests or mittens. This is a fun way of prolonging the lives of items you are emotionally attached to.
